Maryland (visiting for 1 day)

Day 3

     On our way to Maryland, my Dad informed me that Maryland was founded in 1634, by Lord Baltimore.  It was founded for religious freedom for the Catholics.  Today we are going to visit Chesapeake Bay, Potomac River, and Backbone Mountain.  I know I will be sleepy by the time we get to Backbone Mountain, and I won’t be able to hike it.

     Dad suprised me and now we are going to Backbone Mountain first, so I can hike it.  The hike was a breathtaking experience.  After the hike, we went to Chesapeake Bay to go swimming, so we could cool down after our hike.  Swimming was a blast, but I am so tired I didn’t wanna get out by the time we got to the Potomac River.  My family had fun, though. 

 

Virginia (Visiting for 2 days)

      Good morning!  Well we are off to Virginia!  It is said that John Smith founded Virginia in 1607, and it was founded for money.  While we are here we are going to visit James River and Roanoke River.  But me personally, I am more excited about the hike we are taking up Mount Rogers.  Mom says while we are there we can still go to church because they are Anglican, too!

Day 1

     Today, we finally arrived in Virigina!  Mom says that here in the south they tend to have alot of slavery.  Today, me and my family went and had a picnic on James River.  The James River was full of trees and rocks you could jump from each one to another!  We had a great time there! 

Day 2

     On our final day in Virginia we still have the Roanoke River and the hike up Mount Rogers left.  To start the day off, we went to the Roanoke River, where we played and fished.  The townspeople suggested we go fishing, so we did, and we didn’t regret it!  Next, we went hiking on Mount Rogers.  It was such refreshing time just to be on the mountain and seeing all the flowers. 

 

Roadtrip!

     So, my family just told me that we are going on a road trip to all the southern colonies!  We are going to Virgina, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia!  Each day my Mom and Dad are going to be telling me things about each colony and what we are going to be doing in each colony.  Our trip is going to last 7 days, so we will see how many days we decide to stay in each place!  – Jaden
